     Good luck on your trip.
     I did a summit attempt a few years ago from Osaka on the bullet 
train. Luck had it so I made bus and train connections easily. Approx 60 
hours round-trip Osaka to Osaka. I stayed at the station 5 hut about two 
kilometers from the end of the road. (I assume that's where you're 
referring.)
