The following outing has just been added to the schedule:

May 30th - June 1st                              Sat-Mon                    Fuji-san (Japan)

Mt Fuji is the highest peak in Japan and stands over 12k ft. It is an extremely popular mountain to climb, and during the climbing season (July and August), there can be up to 2000 people on the mountain. Outside the climbing season, you can find a little bit of solitude. The plan would be to first fly into Tokyo. On Saturday morning, we would take a bus from Shinjuku to Station 5 Kawaguchi (north side) where we would stay in a hotel and acclimate. At midnight on Sunday morning, we would use our crampons and ice axe to make a summit bid. The plan would be to summit at sunrise, leaving us all day to hike back to Station 5, where we can take a bus to return to Tokyo that night.
