NEWS


A great slew of climbing events is rolling out this fall.  Some killer parties and climbing festivals as well as some great volunteer opportunities.  With events happening around the state, there's definitely enough to fill your weekends with great climbing and great people.

Check out the details for the Fall Highball Craggin' Classic, happening in Bishop, CA this November 7-9.  Beers, Pro Clinics, Parties, Slideshows, Music, Food, Auctions, Raffles.. good times in the beautiful Eastern Sierra.

CLIMB SMART FESTIVAL 2014


Joshua Tree, CA Mark your calendars for the kickoff event of the Fall climbing season in JTree… Climb Smart 2014. A benefit for Friends Of Joshua Tree as well as JOSAR, this gathering at the Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater and various venues in and outside of the Park is simply an awesome way to sharpen your trad skills, meet some amazing climbers, get to win piles of swag, give back to the Park and just have fun with loads of new climbers.

Bishop, CA  Join the American Alpine Club and C.A.M.P. USA in Bishop, CA this November 7-9 for good times and a party for the ages at the annual Fall HIghball Craggin' Classic.

Caltech alpine club's reel rock fundraiser


Pasadena, CA  Join the Caltech alpine club at our annual screening of Reel Rock Film Festival on Nov. 14th at 7:30pm in Ramo Auditorium (Caltech campus, Pasadena, CA)!  Reel Rock is a great chance to get to know local climbers, meet the local search and rescue teams, and watch the highly anticipated Valley Uprising! You'll also have a chance to win tons of free gear in our raffle from local sponsors such as Patagonia, REI, Sport Chalet, local climbing gyms and many more!

Southwest Section holiday dinner


Los Angeles, CA  Join the American Alpine Club's Southwest Section for our Annual Holiday Dinner!  This year we have a special guest of honor: PETE TAKEDA!  Save the date!

This year the dinner will be at the Taix Restaurant (1911 W. Sunset Blvd) in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, December 6.  The evening kicks off with a no-host bar at 6:00pm with dinner beginning at 7:00pm.  Dinner includes soup, salad, bread, entree, and dessert.  There are three choices of entrees: Pasta Monegasque, Roast Top Sirloin, or Chicken Vol Au Vent.  After dinner the slideshow will begin, followed by post show drinks at the bar!

Tickets are $45 with all proceeds going to benefit the American Alpine Club.  

There will also be a great raffle and silent auction.
