NEW ORLEANS, LA — Young Audiences Charter Schools (YACS), open-enrollment, arts-integrated public charter schools serving students in Orleans and Jefferson Parish, will host Open House events in December for prospective students and families.

For Orleans Parish Residents, Young Audiences Charter Schools at Lawrence D. Crocker (grades PK 4-8)  will hold an Open House on Tuesday, December 9 at 5:00 pm at its campus at 2301 Marengo St. in Uptown New Orleans.

Young Audiences Charter Schools serves Orleans Parish residents at its Young Audiences Charter Schools at Lawrence D. Crocker (grades PK 4-8) campus at 2301 Marengo St. in Uptown New Orleans. For Jefferson Parish residents, YACS campuses include Young Audiences Charter School at Burmaster Middle/High School (grades 6-12)  at 1000 Burmaster St. in Gretna; YACS Kate Middleton Campus (grades 1-5) at 1407 Virgil St. in Gretna; and Little YACS (PreK4 & Kindergarten) at 3400 6th St. in Harvey.

YACS offers an arts-integrated academic model, combining core academics with visual arts, dance, theater, and music. Research consistently shows that arts integration increases student engagement, strengthens academic achievement, and improves classroom climate.

“Our students don’t just learn through the arts—they learn because of the arts,” said Rickie Nutiik, CEO of Young Audiences Charter Schools. “When students are engaged creatively, they are more confident, curious, and connected to their learning.”

Parents and guardians are encouraged to RSVP and learn more at www.yacs.org, by calling (504) 304-6332, or emailing admissions at yacs.org.
