 This man’s got some nerve.

Troy Carter wants to double down on his shameful radio attack ads. I stood up to Trump Republicans in the state senate who refused basic safety measures and masking protocols during the pandemic, and I’m standing up now.

While Troy was checking my voting record, it seems he forgot to check his own. Senator Troy Carter literally missed more final passage votes than I did in both 2017 and 2019. Please, Troy, don't ignore the facts like it's one of your blighted properties.

Here’s the truth: In 2017, Troy missed 19.4% of his votes for the final passage of bills. In 2019, that shot up to 32.5%. He isn’t fooling anybody.

So,  next time you hear that ominous voice on the radio that Troy paid to villainize me, remember this:

As a woman in leadership in this state, being the target of hypocritical criticism like this is nothing new for me. And women know all-too-well what it feels like to be put under a microscope by men who so easily find our faults, but ignore their own.

This is exactly what we mean when we talk about “the boys club” standing in our way, demeaning us, and telling us it's not our turn. “Not now, maybe next time...”

Well Troy, I’m telling you today that I believe it’s our time. And if you want to throw cheap shots and spread lies... it’s probably best you actually check your own record first.

I won’t be bullied, and Louisianans deserve a representative who can get things done.
