I want to see if you can help me! 
 
I am part of the group working to launch NewOrleansReporter.org - a new, online news journal that will be available in multiple digital formats, including web, tablet, smart phone and social media.   Click here for more details
 
In a nutshell,  NewOrleansReporter.org will provide high-quality, original reporting in key focus beats, each with a dedicated reporter, such as:
·         Government  Accountability - Watchdog function for officials and good government
·         Business - Coverage of economic development progress, including key policy issues
·         Education - Specific focus on educational reform
·         Criminal Justice - Coverage of progress with crime and the judicial system
·         Environmental - Coastal restoration and flood protection issues
 
It will also be an aggregator and have a traditional news layout,  linking to other stories, but presenting articles in an ordered hierarchy of relevance and importance.
 
We will be approaching some national foundations for financial support, and showing local community support will strengthen our proposals.
 
THE ASK:  I would like to get 1000 people to go to NewOrleansReporter.org, sign up for emails and make a contribution (the more the better- but any amount would be great) TODAY.   If 100 people get 10 people to help, it will happen.  I am hoping you will be one of the 100 people getting at least 10 people to do it today.  Click here to sign up and/or donate...even $1, $5!
