A few days ago Apple released Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Mac OS Lion is the 8th major release of Mac OS X. It includes 250 new features. At the NOMUG meeting we will attempt to show all of them. Actually that would take several meetings so we will look at many of Lion's key new features. Currently "Lion" is only available as an online download from the Mac App store. Several NOMUG members have already downloaded and installed it.


After the Lion key feature presentation we will have an open discussion with NOMUG members and guests who have already installed it to hear about their experiences with Lion. As with any new operating system upgrade there are the new features but there are usually issues and software incompatibilities. Even if you have not installed Lion or plan to do so later, hearing the experiences of the early adopters will help you decide if and/or when you should consider upgrading to it.

At Café East there is plenty of well lit, safe off-street parking. Presentations will be shown on a large screen via a high-definition projector.


Hungry and/or thirsty? After the meeting we will adjourn downstairs to the restaurant and members or guests of NOMUG can enjoy Café East's excellent Chinese and Asian fusion cuisine. During the meeting refreshments or drinks are available at the restaurant's cash bar on the first floor.


DIRECTIONS: See the Map above. Café East is on Rye street in Metairie "across" Clearview Parkway from the Target store in the Clearview Shopping Center. Take the Clearview exit North from the expressway and then immediately move left over to the I-10 service road turnoff on the neutral ground. Café East is on Rye Street "behind" the Campo Appliance store located on the service road.
