New Orleans Area Workers Call for McDonald’s to Stop Damaging Our Economy
New Orleans, LA—As part of a nationwide campaign to restore the American 
middle class, members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) gathered 
today at noon at the 2737 Canal Street and 501 Westbank Expressway McDonald’
s, talking to workers and consumers about McDonald’s continued insistence on 
paying low wages and opposition to changes that would allow employees to weigh 
in on working conditions. The group highlighted the company’s huge wage gap-- 
McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner’s pay is 770 times that of his workers.

Baton Rouge, LA—Members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) 
gathered today at noon at the 720 Government Street McDonald’s, talking to 
workers and consumers about McDonald’s continued insistence on paying low wages 
and opposition to changes that would allow employees to weigh in on working 
conditions. 

“McDonald’s is making sure we’re all McScrooged this holiday season,” said 
Dana Peterson, State Director, Change that Works.   “As America’s workers 
struggle to pay our bills, they’re spending big bucks to make sure wealthy CEO’s 
get their year-end bonuses.”
