A Plea from the wife of one of the Jefferson Parish Firemen

My husband is a fireman with the Fire Dept., in Jefferson Parish, and you
don’t have to live in Jefferson or Louisiana to sign this petition to help
the men.  Jefferson Parish Fire Department gave a 35% across the board
raise, to all firemen two years ago.  This was to make up for the lack of
“cost of living raises” over the last 19 years.  He opened the newspaper a
month ago to find the Jeff Parish Fire Dept. is taking back the raise, but
calling it  "reducing overtime" instead. Before this raise, a fireman who was 
on the job three years,
with two kids, still qualified for the WIC program for free baby formula.

The men signed a "No confidence" vote for their Superintendent and Homeland
Security Officer and three days later, the Social Security numbers of half
the departments’ firefighters were  "accidentally" posted on the official
Jefferson Parish Department website.  The Firefighters Union is checking
into legal action, but it looks like they’ll be lucky if the men receive
credit protection for the next year.

Please sign this petition.  Again, you don't have to live in Jefferson
