[Hackrf-dev] no reception

I have the latest firmware, and im on osx. the software seems to be working fine but i get no reception on my hackrf one. 
i bought my unit from hong kong. now i have ordered ant 500 and anoher antenna and i hope it will work. 
the antenna im using is a wifi antenna with sma converter.
can anyone give me some tips?
