[Hackrf-dev] Install Question

The rtl_* tools are only for use on the rtl8201-based tv dongles, just as
the hackrf_* tools are only for hackrf. The only universal tools/apps are
those that use the osmocom libraries. If you start up an app such as gqrx
that uses osmocom, you should see hackrf as an option.
