I started with a fresh install of unmoded Ubuntu 14.04.

Next I did the sudo apt-get update all to update the OS

Then I applied the teachings of:
https://github.com/mossmann/hackrf/wiki/Installing-gnuradio-on-Ubuntu-14.04-with-the-packaging-manager

I started with:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gqrx/releases

= WIN!

sudo apt-get update

= WIN!

sudo apt-get upgrade

= WIN!

sudo apt-get install gqrx gnuradio gr-osmosdr hackrf

= WIN!

rtl_power

= no freqency range msg

rtl_power -f 118M:137M:8k -g 50 -i 10 -e 1h airband.csv

= no supported devices found.

hackrf_info

= Found HackRF ......Board Id etc......

it failed at:

rtl_power -f 118M:137M:8k -g 50 -i 10 -e 1h airband.csv

Does anyone have any idea why rtl_power does not see the HackRF?

Thanks!
