With my unit I can, for example, pick up FM stations with no problem
(around 100MHz) with no gain enabled and no special treatment. I'd
say that's a pretty good baseline - if FM radio isn't blatantly
powerful, you have a problem.

* This is using an external antenna. Did you cut the trace? Have you
tested it w/ a multimeter to confirm it's fully cut?
