Sean,

Great questions! I will answer in greater detail in a private email to you, but your questions are pertinent to all Club Members, so I will answer to the listserve as well.

First of all regarding private trips. The European Alps hold a special fascination to climbers, so please feel free to send me your TR's. The Appalachian's, on the other hand, I don't think are as well known, so for that reason, I think that most CMC'ers would like to read those TR's too. And certainly most of us love to play in the Sierra's, so it's always good to hear other people's experiences.

That being said, it is still the CMC NewsLetter, and we want to emphasize CMC outings; secondly would be private trips with CMC people. But if any Member has had experiences that they would like to share with the Club, please send me your article (bobopp1 at yahoo.com) and I will review it. If there is enough space, then we will include it in the next NewsLetter. Keep in mind that we do these NL's quarterly, so if your TR doesn't get into this NL, there's a good chance that we'll get it into the next one.

Finally, regarding an Orizaba trip, there is probably plenty of interest amongst CMC'ers for that. To lead it, you must be a Regular Member, so if there are any Regular Members interested in Orizaba, please contact Sean Casserly (casserly79 at gmail.com). Once you come up with a plan, please submit it to the CMC Outings Coordinator, Tom Sexton (tjsexton at socal.rr.com), and he will forward to the Board of Directors for approval.

If there are any more individual questions or concerns regarding the CMC NewsLetter, please email me personally.

Happy Climbing!

- Bob O.

Bob,

I have some personal trip reports that I feel are pretty interesting. They include some Swiss Alps climbing, Appalachian hikes as well as a bunch of Sierra hikes such as 5 emblem peaks at 9 14ers. Also how can I push for a future organized trip up Pico de Orizaba in Mexico? Just let me know!
