April 29th – May 1st              Friday - Sunday                                          Olancha
Peak – Southeast Couloir

Anyone who
has traveled highway 395 from L.A to the eastern Sierra has probably seen this
route as it is clearly visible from the town of Olancha.  In a good snow year, the SE couloir can have
up to 4000 ft. of climbable snow.  Friday
backpack/bushwhack to our camp at ~6,100 Ft. 
Saturday get an early start for the Southeast Couloir and return to
camp.  Sunday pack up and head out (note:
We'll have option of hiking out Saturday if time and energy permit).  Ice axe, crampons, helmet, and good attitude required.  This will be a strenuous trip.  Participants must be in very good physical condition
and able to maintain group pace.  Send

July 31st                             Sunday                                                                              Matthes
Crest Traverse

Paul and I are looking for another
party to join us on this spectacular alpine traverse (a CMC “classic
climb”).  We will be attempting the south
to north traverse (5.7) and doing it car to car, so an early start will be in
order.  We are planning/hoping to have a
campsite in Tuolumne Meadows Saturday night. 
Participants must be in very good physical condition and capable of
handling the climbing conditions that will be encountered.  Send email with experience and recent

September 16th – 18th                      Friday - Sunday                                    North
Palisade, Polemonium

                                                                                                                                    and
Starlight Peak

Here's a
chance to climb three (3) 14ers in a day from the scenic Upper Palisade
Basin.  Friday, backpack over Bishop Pass
and set up camp in upper Palisade Basin. 
Saturday, climb to the U-Notch via the southwest chute (cl. 4) and
attempt Polemonium Peak (5.2) and then North Palisade via the Chimney route
(5.4).  Finish up with a traverse over to
Starlight Peak (5.5 summit block). 
Descend via the northwest chute.  Sunday
hike out.  Participants must be in
excellent physical condition and capable of handling the climbing conditions
that will be encountered.  Send email
