[CharterSchools] NOMMA Gets an A

NOMMA earns an “A” rating on the 2024-2025 School Performance Score (90.6)!

NOMMA Highlights:
8th-grade LEAP Assessment Index (+16.6) and Progress Index (+3.3) increased
ACT Average increased from 17.8 to 18.4
Class of 2025 Graduation Rate is 93%
Strength of Diploma increased +4.5 pts
NOMMA has been recognized as an Opportunity Honoree for achieving subgroup performance in the top 10% statewide for students with disabilities, ranking in the 92nd percentile
Every identified subgroup has improved for three consecutive years. Since 2023:


Black or African American +10.6 pts Hispanic/Latino +10.9 pts
English Learners +12.2 pts Economically Disadvantaged +8.8 pts White +5.3 pts

Louisiana Highlights:
Louisiana’s statewide performance score is 80.9 B
Louisiana’s Graduation Rate is 85%

Statewide, 21% of all schools earned an A, 31% earned a B, 32 % earned a C, 12% earned a D, and 4 % earned an F

NOMMA is an open-enrollment public charter school requiring all students to participate in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Program (MCJROTC). NOMMA has been designated a Purple Star School and Naval Honor School for MCJROTC superior program performance. Cadets may earn a TOPS University or TOPS Tech Career diploma. NOMMA offers honors courses, AP courses, CLEP testing, dual enrollment courses, after-school tutoring, support for diverse learners, and participation at the Class 4A sports level. The school’s Commandant is Col. Chris Schlafer, USMC (Ret); Principal Alexis Long.
