Rooted School at SUNO Welcomes HBCU Leaders for National Visit Highlighting K-12 & HBCU Partnership Innovation
 
New Orleans, LA —Rooted School at SUNO andTranscend Education welcomed senior officials from UNCF and leadership teams representing 13 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) on November 6 for a campus visit focused on expanding pathways between K-12 schools and HBCUs nationwide.
 
The visit, organized by Transcend Education, showcased Rooted’s groundbreaking partnership with Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), which provides students early access to college coursework, mentorship from university faculty, and direct pathways to college and high-growth careers.
 
“Rooted School’s partnership with SUNO is a model for what is possible when K-12 schools and HBCUs work hand-in-hand to expand opportunity,” said Kaitlin Karpinski, CEO of Rooted School. “We were honored to welcome HBCU leaders who share our commitment to ensuring students graduate prepared to succeed in college, career, and beyond.”
 
During the visit, the delegation participated in a welcome session with Rooted and SUNO leadership, toured classrooms, observed student learning and college-readiness programs in action, and engaged in discussion about scalable models for student success and K-12/HBCU partnerships.
 
“Together with SUNO, we are creating a bridge - from high school to post-secondary success grounded in equity, innovation, and community,” added Karpinski
