                                                                                                                                                                                               Benjamin Franklin Elementary/Middle Mathematics & Science School Announces Open Houses on February 12 and 19
Benjamin Franklin Elementary/Middle Mathematics & Science School (BFE), an open-enrollment K-8 school in Uptown New Orleans, invites prospective families to attend its upcoming Open Houses in February: Lower School (PK–5th Grade) will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 9–11 a.m., at 1116 Jefferson Ave and Middle School (6th–8th Grade) will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 9–11 a.m., at 3649 Laurel St.

BFE recently earned recognition for its academic growth, achieving “A” Rated Progress with a 6-point increase in its School Performance Score. The school offers a robust academic program, including high school credit courses in Algebra I and English I, with 8th-grade students achieving a 100% passage rate in both subjects.

BFE’s Lower School provides a nurturing and engaging environment, featuring a Tier 1 state-approved curriculum enriched with: academic Gifted Program and SOAR Hour tutoring; dynamic arts programs, including the acclaimed Strings Orchestra led by Rachel Jordan and a variety of extracurricular activities fostering creativity and collaboration.

BFE’s Middle School employs data-driven and research-based teaching strategies to deliver exceptional learning experiences, including: advanced courses like Algebra I and English I for high school credit and a diverse range of extracurricular activities such as cheerleading, dance, volleyball, basketball, flag football, soccer, track, majorettes, band, art, and theater.

Serving 735 students across two Uptown campuses, BFE is dedicated to accelerating the learning of all students through inquiry-driven, reflective teaching and meaningful learning experiences.
