Lake Forest Charter School Presents Student Art Exhibit: “To Dream in Color: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Dream Through the Art and Culture of New Orleans”

Lake Forest Charter School is proud to announce its upcoming student art exhibition, To Dream in Color: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Dream Through the Art and Culture of New Orleans. The event will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the Lake Forest Charter School Media Center, located at 11110 Lake Forest Blvd., New Orleans East.

 

“This exhibit is a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s enduring legacy and the unique cultural tapestry of New Orleans,” said Mardele Early, Founding CEO of Lake Forest Charter School. “Our students have poured their hearts into interpreting Dr. King’s vision through various artistic mediums, showcasing their incredible creativity and academic excellence.”

 

The exhibit will feature a diverse range of student-created art forms, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, performances, and musical renditions. Attendees will enjoy vibrant performances by the LFC Eaglettes, the Drama Club, and the LFC Orchestra, as well as thought-provoking artwork that connects Dr. King’s dream to the rich heritage of New Orleans. This dynamic showcase invites visitors to reflect on the intersections of time, memory, and art, offering an inspiring glimpse into how young minds perceive and honor the past.

 

Parking Information: Guests are encouraged to park along Wright Road and access the campus through the Wright Road and Lake Forest Blvd. entrance gate.
