Hynes Charter Schools Presented with Governor’s Proclamation for Cognia Distinction; Teachers of the Year Named
At a recent Hynes Charter Schools Board Meeting, State Representative Stephanie Hilferty of District 94 presented the Hynes Board with a special proclamation from Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, recognizing Hynes Charter Schools as a Cognia System of Distinction. Hynes achieved this prestigious honor following an extensive Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review.

The Cognia accreditation is a globally recognized mark of quality and distinction. Based on the results of the 2023–2024 Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review, Hynes showcased a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. The review highlighted evidence of student growth, a positive learning culture, dynamic instructional environments, and effective leadership—key characteristics Cognia seeks in exemplary schools.

At the meeting, Hynes Charter Schools also celebrated their 2026 Teachers of the Year (TOY), recognizing the outstanding dedication and passion of  exceptional educators. The TOYs for 2026 are: Carla Bringier-Mason (Hynes Lakeview), Heidi Lagarde (Hynes Lakeview), Brian Lindsey (Hynes Parkview), Christel Taylor (Hynes UNO) and Pallie Thompson (Hynes Parkview).
