Discovery Schools will hold three joint open houses in January for both Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (KDHSA) in Kenner and the new Dr. John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (DJOD) in Jefferson, LA. The Open Houses will be for both schools.  
An Open House for prospective Kindergarten students will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 10 AM at KDHSA’s Rivertown Campus at 415 Williams Blvd. in Kenner. 
An Open House for prospective 1st- 4th graders will be held on Thursday, January 23 at 6 PM at KDHSA’s Maine Campus at 2504 Maine Ave. in Metairie. 
An Open House for prospective 5th -12th graders will be held on Thursday, January 30, 5 PM at KDHSA’s Vintage Campus at 201 Vintage Dr. in Kenner. 
Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy is an open enrollment, academically successful public charter school delivering a rigorous curriculum with a focus on health sciences. KDHSA’s new 21stcentury high school facility will open this March in Kenner.  The new state-of-the-art high school campus will feature nine science labs, teaching kitchen, media center, cafeteria, and co-curricular classrooms including art and music studios. 
Discovery Schools is expanding with the addition of the new Dr. John Ochsner Discovery (K-4) in Jefferson, an innovative partnership with Ochsner Hospital, opening for the 2020-21 school year. Dr. John Ochsner Discovery will open at an interim location at 2012 Jefferson Hwy. before transitioning into its newly constructed campus in 2021.  It will then grow by one grade level each year until fully expanded to serve students in Pre-K - 8th grade. Dr. John Ochsner Discovery will be a replication of the Kenner Discovery K-8 model.

Founded in 2013, by the Discovery Health Sciences Foundation Board of Directors, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy is a high performing open-enrollment public charter school in Jefferson Parish.
