 mindSpark Learning Partners with Lusher Charter School 
to Host Professional Development Session
“ArtsSpark: Igniting the Power of Arts” will teach arts integration methods to
 interested teachers in New Orleans area
 In partnership with mindSpark Learning, Lusher Charter School will host “ArtsSpark: Igniting the Power of Arts,” a day-long professional development session focusing on arts-integration in the classroom. Educators from the Greater New Orleans area who are interested in learning about integrating arts in the classroom are invited to attend the day-long session on Friday, May 24, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Lusher Charter School Freret Campus, 5624 Freret Street. The cost is $30 per person, including lunch. Space is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register now at:  www.lusherschool.org or click here.“Lusher has built a successful model of arts integration over many years, and we are committed to sharing with other educators who are interested in learning how the arts can engage and deepen understanding in core academics at any grade level,” said Sheila Nelson, Executive Director of Planning and Administration. "We plan on the day being a good mix of fun and learning.”Activities throughout the day, led by fellow teachers, will include information on:Collaboration and Partnership Through the Arts;Content Connections in the Arts; Innovation and Design Through the Arts; Leading Through the Arts; and Social-Emotional Connections to the Arts.Lusher Charter School is an Arts School Network “Exemplary School” and has partnerships with the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, Tulane University Performing Arts and The NOLA Project.
