Community Arts and Literacy Day
Free event features puppetry, storytelling, snacks, theater fun and a free book!


Young Audiences and the Jefferson Parish Library present Community Arts and Literacy Day: a Day of Art and Literacy Activities. Puppetry, storytelling, and theater fun with Janese Brooks-Galette and Cameron Mitchell-Ware. A free book will be given to all children who attend and light snacks will be served. The event is free and open to the public for preschool age children and their families.

This Community Arts and Literacy event is part of the Young Audiences of Louisiana W.K. Kellogg Foundation funded Louisiana Wolf Trap project. The goal of the grant is to increase kindergarten readiness in New Orleans by giving teachers the tool of arts-integration so they can increase engagement with and understanding of key social and academic skills needed to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

When: Saturday, March 19, 11am-12pm


Where: Terrytown Library, 680 Heritage Ave., Gretna, LA 70056
