                  Benjamin Franklin High School Announces 2015 Graduation Speaker                                    

                   New Orleans, LA - May 18, 2015 – Grégor Trumel, Consul General of France in Louisiana, will speak at Benjamin Franklin High School’s 55th Commencement on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the UNO Lakefront Arena.                   

                   “We are excited to have Mr. Trumel address this year’s graduating class,” said Principal/CEO, Dr. Timothy Rusnak.                  

                   Appointed by the President of the French Republic, Mr. Grégor Trumel (1975) assumed his duties as Consul General of France in Louisiana in August 2014. He previously served as First counselor, Press Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of France in Denmark. He has also served in Paris and The Netherlands.                  

                   A graduate of Sciences-Po (Political Studies Institute), Mr. Trumel has also studied Economics and Literature. He is passionate about 20th century French literature and modern music, especially the music of Louisiana (Cajun, Zydeco). 

 As a consul general, he focuses his action on the French community in Louisiana, the promotion of francophonie and French education, as well as French-Louisianan trade and business cooperation.
