6th Annual “An Edible Evening” to Benefit
Edible Schoolyard New Orleans Students, Programs


 
(NEW ORLEANS)—On March 26, 2015,Edible Schoolyard New Orleans (ESYNOLA) presents its sixth-annual garden partyand fundraiser, An Edible Evening, which supports five school gardens and twoteaching kitchens at five New Orleans charter schools operated by FirstLineSchools. An Edible Evening (which is usually held at Samuel J. GreenSchool), will be held at a new location this year. The Dreamkeeper Garden atLangston Hughes Academy- a FirstLine School, is located at 3519 TrafalgarStreet, New Orleans, and will be the site of this year’s event.  
 
The city’s favorite garden partyunder the stars will be held from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00pm, following a Patron Hourbrought to you by Dickie Brennan and Company at 6:00 p.m. 
M SQUARED is sponsoring the secondannual Late Wave Party, featuring DJ Brice Nice, to encourage night owls andyoung professionals to come out and enjoy the festivities.  Shon Baker and Alice Glenn areco-chairs of this year’s event. Media Sponsors for “An Edible Evening” are WGNO-TV and The Advocate.
 
As in previous years, the event willfeature gourmet food from New Orleans’ most celebrated restaurants, a silentauction and wines exclusively presented by Presqu’ile Winery of Santa Maria,California. The evening will also feature musical guests Seguenon Kone, SocialSet, and Tuba Skinny, with the support of a generous donation by PositiveVibrations Foundation.
 
Tickets and sponsorships are stillavailable for An Edible Evening, withindividual tickets priced at $45 until Tuesday, March 24th at 5 p.m.(thereafter, $60 at the door). Event sponsorships range from $1,500 to $15,000 and patron levelsponsorships are available from $125 to $1,000.

The proceeds raised from An Edible Evening will support more than 3,500 creativeand practical food and nutrition classes ESYNOLA offers to FirstLine studentseach year, and will increase food access through ESYNOLA’s schoolyard gardensand teaching kitchens for parents and families.  ESYNOLA’s innovative food education classes aim to improve students’ foodknowledge and influence their choices – which will have a profound impact onthe quality of their lives for decades to come.
