Your Future Employee could be participating!
Greetings,
Science and engineering fairs are a platform for students to explore, defend and display methods of scientific inquiry and engineering design after months of active learning and experimentation. It uses both math and science skills while teaching students about critical thinking and problem-solving processes. Taking something from an idea to a complete presentation is an exercise that demonstrates and builds real character of the students. The New Orleans area will continue to need qualified workers in STEM fields such as healthcare, construction, and energy. The Science Fair is a great place to capture the imagination of a child and build that future workforce!
Who participates?
Eligible students are nominated by schools in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. The Junior Division is comprised of students from 6th - 8th grades and the Senior Division is comprised of students from 9th - 12th grades. We expect more then 300 students to participate in this year's Region IX Science Fair.
You can help!
We are requesting financial and company support. Your tax-deductible contribution helps to host the fair and provide cash awards, including sending four Grand Award winners and two teachers to represent the region at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, PA!
