Alnita Porea to Serve as Interim School Director at New Orleans Charter
Science and Mathematics High School
Alnita Porea will serve as the interim School Director for the New Orleans
Charter Mathematics and Science High School for the 2009-2010 school year
announced Mary Zervigon, Chairperson for the Advocates for Science and
Mathematics, the non-profit governing board of the charter high school.
“We are confident Alnita will help the school continue to thrive- we
expect nothing but the best,” said Ms. Zervigon.
Ms. Porea is a native New Orleanian and received her Masters of Arts in
Teaching from Xavier University. She has worked with New Orleans Public
Schools since 1997 and is currently the Assistant School Director at New Orleans
Charter Science and Mathematics High School.
“On behalf of the Eastbank Collaborative, we welcome Alnita and stand
ready to assist her in any way we can,” said Rose Drill-Peterson, Director of
the Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools.
Ms. Porea will replace Bridget Ramsey who is resigning to complete her
doctoral dissertation.
