New Orleans, LA – Friday, former Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez and a slate of local Democratic Parish Executive Committee (DPEC) leaders endorsed Sen. Karen Carter Peterson for Congress.Karen’s growing coalition of Democratic leaders include:

“When the Trump Administration and Republicans in state capitols like Louisiana’s waged a war on voters, Karen rolled up her sleeves and stood up to protect voting rights,” Former DNC Chair Tom Perez said. “We created a first-of-its-kind DNC program to combat voter suppression, armed our party with voter protection staff and legal experts, and fought to ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote without intimidation. As a result, we saw record voter turnout in communities of color across the country and made history this past November. Karen has always fought tooth and nail to make sure every single community’s voice is heard, and I know she’ll do the same in Washington. I’m proud to support her for Congress.” 

“Our next representative needs to have a bold, progressive vision for a strong post-COVID recovery that makes sure every family, small business, and worker has what they need to thrive,” Daniel Banguel, Fourth Vice Chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party said. “As our next Congresswoman, Karen will bring the much-needed investments in infrastructure, education, and job growth Baton Rouge needs. I know she’ll fight for us.”
