Last month Apple upgraded most of its portables and introduced a new model that is a leap forward in portable technology. The new 15" MacBook Pro with "Retina" display uses the same type of high resolution display introduced in the latest iPad model. It has a 15" super high resolution display that is a breakthrough in display technology. The new model also has a "bunch" of other unique features in its design not incorporated (yet) in any other laptops from Apple or any other PC laptop computer manufacturer. This unit has to be seen in person to understand and appreciate how it changes the direction and scope of laptop computing.


Adobe just completely revamped all of its software products - including even how they are "sold." This "upgrade" includes new versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign and all previous Adobe products plus new products were added to the Adobe product line. There are now SIXTEEN product groups from Adobe. At this meeting we will explore all sixteen in depth.  ; )   Actually that would take a month or longer but we can take a look at the big picture of how Adobe has changed its product line and the direction of creative computing. Creative Suite 6 is far more than just another upgrade to Adobe products. Below is a listing of the new CS6 products but the changes go way beyond these as you will see and hear at our meeting.

At Café East there is plenty of well lit, safe off-street parking. Presentations will be shown on a large screen via a high-definition projector.



Hungry and/or thirsty? After the meeting we will adjourn downstairs to the restaurant and members or guests of NOMUG can enjoy Café East's excellent Chinese and Asian fusion cuisine.




DIRECTIONS: See the Map above. Café East is on Rye street in Metairie "across" Clearview Parkway from the Target store in the Clearview Shopping Center. Take the Clearview exit North from the expressway and then immediately move left over to the I-10 service road turnoff. Café East is on Rye Street "behind" the Campo Appliance store on the service road.
