[Kreweoftruth] in praise of women who can't keep their mouths shut

Here's what prompted today's rant: a rational admonition from TP editorialist Stephanie Grace to Councilwoman Stacy Head that maybe she shouldn't have commented directly on Councilwoman Cynthia Morrell's unpaid sanitation bills. And it bugged me because I'm glad to know about the unpaid tax bills from a city official. I want to know this stuff and I'm kinda glad someone said what I feel: WTF IS GOING ON THAT I HAVE TO PAY AND THE PEOPLE WHO PASS THE TAXES DON'T? 


Now, in my case, I've gotten too out there before myself, spouting off my opinions and waving my fists at injustices, and getting threatened because I put my face out there and didn't do it anonymously or through surrogates. And yes, it has not always been pleasant or the best course of action. And it is always easier to take the coward's route and attack someone through anonymous flyers and blogs and all that kind of stuff. And look...I'm as guilty of reading that anonymous stuff (and loving the dish) as anyone else. Let's face it, political junkies like us live for that crap.


Which is why I'm going to raise a candle to all the women out there who for whatever reason...anger, deep-seated resentment at always having to act like the nice girl...whatever the reason, just have to speak out IN PUBLIC. More power to you.
