Reiner Stenzel PCT Talk

The Caltech Alpine club is thrilled to host Caltech alumnus Reiner Stenzel.
He will be talking about thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) as part
of his retirement adventure scheme.

Reiner will describe what thru-hiking involves, why one would do it, who is
doing it, and what it has in common with mountaineering. Thru hikers have
their own culture and habits, formed by hiking for many months over
distances of a hundred marathons, climbing elevations of a dozen Mt
Everests, in climates of desert heat to freezing mountain storms. It can
have a profound experience on one's life.
