Dearest CMC PhotograHers and PhotograHims,
 
The Third Annual CMC Photo Contest is under way, and I am awaiting YOUR photo! Last year there about 35 entries, up from 22 in the inaugural Contest. We would like to make it even harder on the Old Men of the Board, by giving them over 50 photos to consider! 
 
The Contest Rules are in the current edition of the Newsletter. Basically, if you're a CMC Member, the picture is of some type of wilderness, and YOU took the picture, then you can submit it. Oh, and it does need to have been taken in the Calendar Year of 2011.
 
Please submit your award-winning photo(s) to me (bobopp1 at yahoo.com) no later than Midnite of December 7, 2011. This will give the Old Men plenty of time to view and judge your photos. (Your entry remains your property, but by entering the photo, you give the CMC permission to present it as we see fit in the Newsletter.) All entries will be printed in the January 2012 editon of the CMC Newsletter, with the Top Three earning top billing.
 
Did I hear someone ask about prizes? Why of course there are...just ask Chris Jakober! His photos have earned two Firsts and a Third in the first two years, so its time for somebody else to earn the Gift Card! 
The prizes are as follows:
 - First Place = $50.00 REI Gift Card
 - Second Place = $30.00 REI Gift Card
 - Third Place = $20.00 REI Gift Card
While the gift cards are intended to reward those whose photos are considered the best in show, the real purpose of this event is to share our best outdoors memories of the Year. We look forward to you sharing yours.
