New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy Schedules

Four Open Houses for Grades 8-12 

 

100% student body participation in Marine Corps Junior ROTC 

a Purple Star School

The New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy (NOMMA), an open-admissions, top-rated public charter school located adjacent to the Marine Forces Reserve national headquarters in Federal City, invites prospective students and families in grades 8-11 to attend one of four Open Houses for the 2026-27 school year.

Open House Dates:

●      Thursday, November 6, 2025

●      Tuesday, November 18, 2025

●      Thursday, January 8, 2026

●      Thursday, January 22, 2026

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with presentations beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m. Doors will be closed to further admittance promptly at 6:00 p.m. The Open House will take place in the NOMMA school cafeteria, 425 O’Bannon St., New Orleans, LA, 70114.

Important Information:

●      Attendance at an Open House is required for eligibility to apply for the 2026-27 school year.

●      Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must attend with the prospective student to be eligible to apply.

●      Parent or guardian identification is required at check-in.

●      A printed Spanish-language translation will be available.

Please register in advance by completing an Interest Form at nomma.net/admissions. 

NOMMA is open to all students across the Greater New Orleans metro area. Students entering grades 8–11 may apply through the NOLA-PS Common Application Process (NCAP) at enrollnolaps.com. Military dependents receive priority in the application process. The Main Round application window is open from November 3, 2025, through January 23, 2026.

NOMMA is a top-rated, open-enrollment public charter school requiring all students to participate in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Program (MCJROTC). NOMMA has been designated a Purple Star School for its dedication to military families. Cadets may earn a TOPS University or TOPS Tech Career diploma through various pathways. NOMMA offers honors courses, AP courses, CLEP testing, dual enrollment courses, after-school tutoring, support for diverse learners, and participation at the Class 4A sports level.

Our cadets receive mentoring support from both JROTC instructors and academic faculty, helping each cadet reach their personal and academic potential. NOMMA offers honors courses, AP classes, dual enrollment, programming for diverse learners, and Class 4A athletics. While at NOMMA, cadets may pursue a TOPS University or TOPS Tech Career Diploma options, and enroll in specialized courses in Maritime, Criminal Justice, Business, and Cyber Literacy.

Open House Invitation: 2026-2027 School Year
Prospective cadets and a legal parent or guardian must attend an Open House to be eligible to apply through the NOLA-PS Common Application Process (NCAP).
