Rooted School Students Take First Place at Youth Economists Summit


Students from Rooted School @ SUNO earned first place at the Youth Economists Summit, presented by Wall Street Connection and held December 13 at the Southern University at New Orleans College of Business.


The team won the top honor in the summit’s economic debate competition, where students examined and debated the issue of ending prison labor in the United States.


The winning students were Asha Robinson, David Perkins III, Jaylen Glapion, and Sean Augustine, under the guidance of Rooted School teacher Voltaire Casino and student coach Kash Friday.
