Eight Willow School Seniors Named as Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program
Nine Willow students recognized as Commended Scholars

NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Willow School is pleased to announce that eight (8) members of the Senior class have been named as semifinalists in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program for 2025. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced that Willow students John T. Cajski, Robert B. Carroll, Marigny K. Gill, Cypress C. Hodgson, Larissa L. Huilgol, Mia I. Montelibano, Conor A. Moore, AND Chloe A. Polin are semifinalists in this year’s Annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

The academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $26 million. About half of national Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.

In addition to the National Merit Semifinalists, National Merit recognizes Commended Scholars. A National Merit Commended Scholar is a student who scores in the top 2–3% of PSAT takers nationally. Commended Scholars are recognized for their academic achievement. The Willow School’s Commended Scholars are Audrey Broussard, Rafael Calderon, Ainsley Kornman, Kelly Laines, Marbella Maristany, NeNe McDonald, Elissa Merlin, Elise Russell, and Naima Zanders.

“We are immensely proud of these amazing students and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them,” said Willow CEO Nicolette London.

NMSC, a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance, was established in 1955 specifically to conduct the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC with its own funds and by approximately 400 business organizations and higher education institutions that share NMSC’s goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.
