Benjamin Franklin Elementary/Middle School Basketball Team Wins Championship Title

 

The Benjamin Franklin Elementary/Middle Mathematics & Science School Middle School Basketball team has won the Inspire NOLA League Championship in the finals held at Edna Karr High School.

 

“We are so proud of our middle school basketball players! Their hard work, dedication, and exceptional teamwork have paid off, ” said BFEMS Middle School Principal Patrice Joseph. “From the intense practices to the nail-biting games, every member of the team has shown unwavering commitment and sportsmanship. It's a testament to their skill and determination that they have achieved this well-deserved success.”

 

The Ben Franklin Elementary School champion players are: Edward Booker, Brentin Brooks, Labron Johnson, Demarius Jones, Knowledge Matthews-Collins, Kason Minor, Joe Morgan, Shawfeek Preston, Jacolby Sample, Kevin Severin, Amari Smith, Justin Turner, Trevor Vassel, and Brendon Williams. The MVP is Ronald Navarre. The players were coached by Head Coach Sandra Hodge and Assistant Coaches Rickey Smith and Tommie Vassel.

 
“The coaches, staff, and supporters have played a crucial role in guiding and encouraging the team throughout the season,” said BFEMS CEO Dr. Jeremye Brooks. “Together, they have created an environment where each player could thrive and contribute to the team's overall success.  This victory highlights the positive impact of fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork. The lessons learned on the court go beyond basketball skills – they instill qualities of perseverance, discipline, and collaboration that will serve these students well in their future endeavors.”




 

 

Benjamin Franklin Elementary Mathematics and Science School is an in-demand, open-enrollment, high performing PK-8 school with a focus on math and science, open to any student in Orleans Parish.
