Morris Jeff Community School to Launch High School Football Program in 2024-25 School Year


High school booster club hosts golf tournament to support brand-new football program


Morris Jeff Community School will be launching a high school football program for the 2024-25 school year, announced Head of School Patricia Perkins.  The program will expand upon its existing middle school flag football program. 


“We know that football contributes greatly to a strong high school culture and community,” said Perkins. “We are excited to take this next step in the growth of our high school athletic program and look forward to seeing our community come together to cheer for our football team next year!”


Morris Jeff is a LHSAA 3A member school. Their first game will be the first week of September. “We are very excited to add this flagship sport to our already robust high school athletics program,” said Eric Milton, MJCS High School Athletic Director. “We know the importance of football to the community and we're excited to launch our first Pelicans football team this fall.”


The High School Boosters in tandem with the Morris Jeff Family Partnership, are hosting a golf tournament to support the high school athletics and its efforts to build a first-class high school football program. The Homecoming Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 8:30 am at Lakewood Golf Course, 4801 General DeGaulle Drive in Algiers. 


“The Morris Jeff community is dedicated to the growth and success of our sports programs,” said Irvin Bell, High School Athletic Boosters Coordinator. “We hope everyone will come out to the Morris Jeff Homecoming Golf Classic to have some fun and support our school.”
