Operation Spark Graduates New Cohort of Software Engineers at their Marigny-Bywater Training CenterThursday, April 6th, 5:30pm
Team to present original grad thesis app: Gnawlinz is retro zombie survival game set in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season. Get ready to Gnaw or be Gnawed upon!
WHAT: Operation Spark, a non-profit coding bootcamp dedicated to changing lives by advancing technology skills for today’s workplace, will hold an in-person graduation showcase for its Advanced IBC (Industry Based Credential) certified students. Graduates will demonstrate a unique new app and take questions from the audience.
The public is invited to attend and learn more about Operation Spark’s programs.

Graduates will present their original thesis application: Gnawlinz, a web-game app where users have to survive a carnival season taken over by zombies. Make your way through the streets of the city as you build up your strength and score to stake your claim as the longest, strongest survivor in the Big Easy.

WHY: The graduates will present their thesis project - an app they have developed from beginning to end.
The current graduating class of five students now hold Advanced Industry-Based Credentials in the Fundamentals of Javascript, Functional Programming, and Web Development.
Software development is the fastest-growing job market in Louisiana. Over the past six years, Operation Spark has trained and placed 300 graduates in high-paying technology jobs.
