Young Audiences of Louisiana Hosts the Young Audiences Arts for Learning’s 2022 National Arts in Education Conference  NEW ORLEANS, LA,  – Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA), in partnership with Young Audiences Arts for Learning (Young Audiences), hosts Young Audiences Arts for Learning’s 2022 National Arts in Education Conference, to be held March 30 - April 1 at NOPSI Hotel in New Orleans, LA. In response to current concerns in the education field, the convening will focus on the theme of “Arts & Action: Building Pathways for Partnership and Engagement in Classrooms and Communities.” This event will bring together the Young Audiences network and the education field at large to explore best practices for re-engaging with students, teachers, families, and community partners in consideration of the many events of the past two years. Topics of focus will be as varied as our recent experiences and will include trauma-informed practices; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA); differentiation for diverse learners; pandemic relief, and more.  Young Audiences’ 2022 National Arts in Education Conference will feature a dynamic line-up of national experts, artists, and community leaders, including Deirdre Johnson Burel, Senior Program Officer at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation; John Shroder, Louisiana State Treasurer; Emily Wolff, Director of the Mayor's Office of Youth & Families; Jamie Kasper, Director of the Arts Education Partnership; and Akua F. Kouyate-Tate, Vice President of Education of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Presented annually by Young Audiences Arts for Learning (YA) in partnership with a local YA affiliate, each conference explores a theme related to arts-in-education through keynote speeches, site visits, and workshop sessions.  The National Arts-in-Education Conference is open to professionals working in the arts-in-education field including leadership, education/programmatic, fund raising/marketing organizational staff; teaching artists; teachers/administrators, and non-profit board members who strive to engage in improving student access to arts and arts integrated learning. In addition to plenary sessions that share the latest research and the impact of the arts and education, each conference features a variety of informative workshop sessions that highlight best practices that enhance work in classrooms and communities, as well as strategies in nonprofit administration, including board development, creating strategic alliances, and implementing effective communications plans.
