Operation Spark to Hold Virtual Graduation Showcase October 7
Teams to Present Original Grad Thesis Apps: WavePool, a companion app to bring a community aspect to Spotify; and Small Talk, an app that helps generate conversation starters for those looking to make connections
Operation Spark, a non-profit coding bootcamp dedicated to changing lives by advancing technology skills for today’s workplace, will hold a virtual graduation showcase for its Advanced IBC (Industry Based Credential) certified students on Thursday, October 7 at 5:30 pm.  The public is invited to attend and learn more about the program. The student groups have developed two new apps: WavePool and Small Talk.  The WavePool Team has developed a Spotify companion app with the aim of bringing a community aspect to the music platform. With their app, also named WavePool, users can share music with friends, add recommendations to their queue, and much more. Recommended songs dictate your score. App address:  http://wavepool.coolTeam Cutout Kids has developed an app named Small Talk, to generate conversation starters that expand a user’s conversational rolodex for those looking to make connections. App Address:  https://smalltalktopics.com,The current graduating class of six students now hold Advanced Industry-Based Credentials in the Fundamentals of Javascript, Functional Programming, and Web Development.“The creativity and potential of our grads are enormous”, said John Fraboni, Operation Spark’s Founder and CEO. “Software development is the fastest-growing job market in our state, and we are here to provide training that meets those needs.”Operation Spark is committed to its 100 percent job placement record and is fully engaged in training, interview prep, and job placement for the graduates of its Immersion program. Over the past four years, the program has trained and placed nearly 250 graduates in high-paying technology jobs.
