New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy to Hold Open Houses for Prospective Students Dec. 7 & Jan. 19 “A” rated public charter school serving all metro-area parishes has 100% student body participation in Marine Corps Junior ROTC and is a designated Naval Honor School The New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy (NOMMA), an “A” rated, open admissions public charter school adjacent to the Marine Forces Reserve national headquarters in Federal City, will be holding open houses for prospective students and families in grades 8-12 for the 2022-23 school year. The 2021 open houses will be held on Tuesday, December 7 and Wednesday, January 19. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. with presentations beginning at 6 p.m. promptly (doors will be closed with no admittance after 6 p.m.).  
Due to COVID restrictions, all NOMMA Open Houses for the 2022-2023 school year will be held at the Algiers Auditorium in Federal City, 2485 Guadalcanal St., New Orleans, LA, 70114.  
Due to health constraints, only one parent / legal guardian and the prospective student will be admitted to the auditorium.  Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours is required for admittance. Masks are required.   Any interested parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must attend an open house with their prospective student in order to be eligible to apply. Parent identification is required. A Spanish presentation will be available. NOMMA is open to all students in the Greater New Orleans metro area. Any student can apply for 8-11 grade at NOMMA through the NOLA-PS Common Application Process (NCAP) at  enrollnola.org with priority given to military dependents in the greater New Orleans area. Round One of NCAP begins on November 1 and closes on January 21, 2022.  New student admittance to 12thgrade is only authorized for relocating military families. ### New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy (NOMMA) is an “A” rated, open admissions public charter school serving the Greater New Orleans area.  NOMMA is both a Top Gains and Equity Honoree, boasting a 97 percent graduation rate and test scores that exceed state and city averages. NOMMA has a 100 percent student body participation in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC), and was designated as a Naval Honor School due to superior performance of its MCJROTC program.  NOMMA has a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and also offers career and technical training.
