The applicationdeadline is September 30. Scholarships will be $1,431 and applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and mustregister or be registered at a college, university, vocation or trade school.  The scholarship grant is tobe used for study at an educational institution that normally maintains aregular faculty, curriculum and normally has a regularly organized body ofstudents in attendance at the place where the educational activities arecarried on.   Application Guidelines 1. Please provide an essayof 500 words or less about a personin your life who has inspired you to continue your educational journey.2. Please provide two references from a school official,community member or otherwise trustworthy person who knows you, believes in youand believes in your educational goal. The Adult Education Center was a pioneering trainingcenter focused on integrating the New Orleans workforce from1965-1972. The Center provided innovativevocational training to 431 inspirational women whose African American graduateswent on to become some of the first black women to integrate multi-national andlocal businesses located in New Orleans. The mission of the 431 Exchangeis to support adult education and social justiceinitiatives throughout the country. Our programs include advocacy, fundraising,and a scholarship fund. The 431 Exchange was founded to honor the memory of theprogressive work done at the Adult Education Center, and to continue its legacyof adult education and social justice. It is in this spirit, and in memory ofits long-time Director Dr. Alice Geoffray, that the 431 Exchange Scholarship wasestablished.  Learn more at431exchange.com.
