| We are public school teachers and leaders who believe our voices and experiences are a critical - and currently missing - component in a robust dialogue about public education in New Orleans.
Whether on social media, the evening news, or in other public forum, there are often only two voices heard: those who say everything (and everyone) in schools is wrong and those who highlight only the glossy. Clearly, the truth is somewhere in between. As educators, we’re living that truth alongside our students and families everyday.
This is a space moderated by professional educators and informed by real stories. Our community needs a public forum for educators and supporters of public education to share our experiences and to address challenges with facts and productive dialogue about the unfolding, story New Orleans is writing about public education. In this forum, we aim to tell that truth, confront the misinformation that has run rampant about public education and support each other as a community focused on supporting public education.
We think the discussion should follow a few simple ground-rules:
   - It is not about public shaming of anyone's ideas.
   - Personal attacks are not welcome.
   - We encourage opinions and stories which contribute to the progress of our schools - for our children and educators.
