APPLY NOW: 431 Exchange Scholarship
In honor of the 431 trailblazing, mostly African-American, women who graduated from the Adult Education Center, the 431 Exchange will award two adult learners with cash grants for continuing or vocational education. The application deadline is September 30.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION: Scholarships awards will be $1,431 each in two different categories:  

1) Legacy Award to a descendant of one of the 431 Graduates of the Adult Education Center: The Legacy Award is open to children/stepchildren, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews of Adult Education Center graduates. 2) Scholarship Award to a qualifying Finalist:The Scholarship Award is open to all.

The Adult Education Center was a pioneering training center focused on integrating the New Orleans workforce from 1965-1972. The Center provided innovative vocational training to 431 inspirational women whose African American graduates went on to become some of the first black women to integrate multi-national and local businesses located in New Orleans. 
The 431 Exchange was founded to honor the memory of the progressive work done at the Center, and to continue its legacy of adult education and social justice. It is in this spirit, and in memory of its long-time Director Dr. Alice Geoffray, that the 431 Exchange Scholarship was established.  
The mission of the 431 Exchange is to support adult education and social justice initiatives throughout the country. Our programs include advocacy, fundraising, and a scholarship fund. Learn more at 431exchange.com.
