   Contact:           Heather Harper (504) 289-0499 or hharper at h2nola.net    Audubon Charter School-Gentilly to Hold “Fais Do-Do” on May 11 The “school fair with cultural flair” will celebrate school’s first year   Audubon Charter School- Gentilly will celebrate the end of its first year with an inaugural “Fais Do-Do” community celebration on Saturday, May 11th from 11am – 4pm at the school, 4720 Painters St. in Gentilly.     Audubon Gentilly utilizes a Montessori/Bilingual (French and English) academic model and the Fais Do-Do will be a unique end-of-year event combining traditional festival fun with a celebration of multi-culturalism. Not your typical school fair, the Fais Do-Do combines culture, arts, music, food, community, and FUN for the whole family!    Activities include: Inflatables, bounce house, climbing wall, obstacle course, jumbo slide and French and Chinese culture tents. The delicious food includes Crepes a la Cart, Fiorella’s Café, and KD’s NOLA Treats.    The event is free and open to the public. Sponsorships are available. For more information, email:  lspearman at asnola.org       Audubon Gentilly is part of the part of the high-performing Audubon Schools network which operates two charter schools on three campuses in New Orleans.  Audubon Gentilly is unique in that it utilizes a new Montessori French Immersion academic model, combining the best practices and philosophies from the model of Audubon’s current schools. The Montessori French Language Immersion Model will be the only program of its kind in the State of Louisiana.  Both schools foster a culturally rich and academically rigorous learning environment using French and Montessori curriculum with a comprehensive arts curriculum.
