Six Jefferson Parish schools to be announced!
 
Young Audiences of Louisiana Partners with Jefferson Parish Public Schools 
in $2.3M Award from USDOE for Arts Education

WHAT:           Six Jefferson Parish public PreK-5 grade schools are taking part in a new 4-year, $2.3 million grant awarded to Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) to create an arts-integrated educational model that advances student achievement. 
 
Six schools to be benefit from the grant will be publically announced at this event: Clancy-Maggiore Elementary School for the Arts, Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts, Bonella A. St. Ville Elementary School, John J. Audubon Elementary School, G.T. Woods Elementary School & Vic A. Pitre Elementary School

WHY:             
Join Lincoln Elementary and other participating schools to see Kindergarten and 1st Graders joyfully learning literacy skills through the arts! The initiative will directly serve 2,620 elementary students, 211 classroom teachers, six teaching artists, and 18 school leaders across six JPPSS schools. Additionally, the project will deliver national access to curriculum and model materials through a distance learning platform administered by Young Audiences, Inc. and contribute to research on the effectiveness of arts integration in improving student academic and artistic outcomes.  
 
Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) is partnering with Jefferson Parish Public School System with funding through the United States Department of Education’s (DOE) Assistance for Arts Education Development and Dissemination Grants Competition (AAEDD).
