YOUNG AUDIENCESCHARTER SCHOOL TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE FOR 
PROSPECTIVE KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS ON JANUARY24
 
 
Young AudiencesCharter School (YACS), the only arts-integrated charter school in JeffersonParish, invites prospective Kindergarten students, along with their families,to attend an Open House on Wednesday, January 24, 2:30pm to learn more aboutthe school. The sessions will be held at Young Audiences Charter School, 1407Virgil Street in Gretna. 
  
“We are proud to be apart of this diverse community and to continue to provide a high-quality, openenrollment, arts-integrated education for all children,” said School LeaderBrandon House. “We are excited to be expanding to high school in 2019 andoffering the opportunity for our students to attend a full K-12 school. Ourrecent test scores prove that we are ready to take YACS to a new level!”
 
Young AudiencesCharter School also invites prospective students and families to schedule atour of the school if they cannot attend the Open House.
 
Young AudiencesCharter School is currently open to any Jefferson Parish student enteringKindergarten through 8th grade. YACS will be expanding to High School in 2019to eventually become a full K-12 school.

Opened in 2013, Young Audiences Charter School at Kate Middletonis an open enrollment, arts-integrated charter school in Jefferson Parish forgrades K-8, and expanding to high school in 2019. Enrollment is open to anyJefferson Parish student. Recent research shows that students at schools withan arts-integrated curriculum scored higher on standardized tests and academicmeasures than those at other types of schools, including academic magnetschools. (PAIR, 2013) Additionally, students involved in the arts have betterattendance, fewer behavior referrals, increased class participation, and aremore likely to report a love of learning.
