VH1 AWARDS MORRIS JEFF COMMUNITY SCHOOL $60KSAVE THE MUSIC GRANT


WHAT:            

Morris Jeff Community School is the recipient of a $60,000 grantfrom VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
 


The school is celebrating with a grantpresentation that will feature a performance by Morris Jeff students along withspecial musical guest The Presidio Brass Quintet. The school will use the fundsto create a band program for its middle school students. The grant will alsoprovide 35 band instruments for students, along with method books, musicstands, music racks and staff training.
 
Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) SuperintendentDr. Henderson Lewis, Jr., the OPSB district member Sarah Usdin, arepresentative from VH1 and other elected officials will be in attendance atthe grant presentation.
