Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education,supporters of  
Sci High, Chosen as 2017 Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope Semi-finalist
 
The Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education, the non-profit thatprovides support for New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School,is a 2017 Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope Semi-finalist, with the chance of receiving a $25,000 grant.   
The FDSME Foundation is one of 10 organizations competing for the JimmieJohnson Foundation/Blue Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope national award, but the onlyone from Louisiana.
Online votes for the top five organizations will determine a $25,000 cashgrant, to be used by winners to enhance K-12 public education programs. Eachwinner also will receive a Blue Bunny Ice Cream party and their logo will befeatured on Jimmie Johnson’s race helmet during the NASCAR Cup race on Sunday,August 13th at Michigan International Speedway
Voting takes place from noon, May 5 through noon, May 12. Each person canvote for FSME repeatedly.  Visit www.helmetofhope.org to vote. 
The Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education, a 501(c) 3nonprofit organization, supports the New Orleans Charter Science andMathematics High School “ Sci High.”  SciHigh is the highest performing, open-enrollment science, technology,engineering, and mathematics (STEM) school in the state, providing studentswith a high-quality education. It offers students cutting-edge and industry-focused STEM electives. Sci High was given the National Society of High SchoolScholars Foundation’s Class Nobel School of Distinction Award for its academicefforts. Students have access to AP classes, summer internships, and roboticscourses. Sci High is the only public school in New Orleans to offer all threeindustry pathways of the Project Lead the Way courses: Engineering, Biomedical Science, andComputer Science and boasts a new Makerspace for student exploration.
