ORLEANS PARISH SCHOOL BOARD ANNOUNCES SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAM CLOSURES DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER
 
NEW ORLEANS, La. – (June 20, 2017) – Due to inclement weather from the Tropical Weather System moving towards the Louisiana coast, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) has announced all classrooms and summer activities at the following locations will be closed on Wednesday, June 21:
·     McDonogh 35 High School
·     Mahalia Jackson Elementary School
·     Bethune Elementary School
·     Hynes Elementary
·     Travis Hill School at the Youth Study Center
·     Alice Harte Elementary
·     Warren Easton High School
·     Edna Karr High School
·     Moton Elementary

·     The Alternative Learning Center
 

Students and families are urged to adhere to city-wide recommendations concerning the storm. Announcements on when schools and summer programs will reopen will be forthcoming as decisions are made following post-storm assessments of school sites and availability of staff.
OPSB continues to carefully monitor the development and progress of the storm. As a precaution, OPSB staff will remain on alert and ready to respond as necessary to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff and facilities, should the need arise.
